Does anyone have a crib tent they would let us borrow or buy???
Last night was a LONG night at our house. Brenley climbed out of her crib a lot in between the hours of 2:00 and 4:30 am. After many spankings, 2 and a half hours, and lots of tears she finally went back to sleep in her bed, with Al sitting on her floor. We can't do this every night and don't think she's ready for a big girl bed. If she won't stay in her crib, why would she stay in her big girl bed? She might for a night or two, but then the newness would wear off quickly.
So, we want a crib tent, but don't want to have to pay $80 for one. For now she's going to be sleeping with jeans over her jammies. She has a hard time hiking her leg up and over the railing with her jeans on :)
So, if you have one that you aren't using right now, please e-mail me. Thanks! Also, any advice would be greatly appreciated!
I had a hard time coming up with something I wanted for Christmas this year. Although my wardrobe needs some updating, I had just had a baby and didn't really want any clothes. All I could think about was house projects. So that's what I asked for, a paint job on our kitchen cabinets.
I have never liked the color of our cabinets and the finish was starting to come off in some areas and was looking pretty worn. We painted our bathroom vanities white last year and loved it, so that's what we decided to do in the kitchen as well.
Here is the before picture (Actually this picture was taken about 4 years ago)
And the after!!! I love it! I think he did such a great job. We'd like to get some cute black nobs and new counter tops, but that will have to wait for now. Al hates to paint so this was a huge sacrifice for him, but I love it more than anything he could have bought at the store.
Thanks so much honey! I love my Christmas present and I love you!!!
A couple weeks ago my parents were watching Atley, Avery and Canon while Shelly and Phillip went on a trip for a week. One Sunday my parents had tickets to the Cowboys game, so they asked us and Danny and Amber to watch the kids. We were all excited to hang out with the cutest 3 and 1 year olds we know :)
We had a blast painting with pudding in the bath tub...painting and EATING!
Canon was in there too, sorry I left you out buddy.
Brooklyn took a little cat nap during all playing.
My parents house was on the market during that time. Someone called during nap time and wanted to show the house at 4:30. We cleaned the house and got the kids up and started walking to the park. I guess a cold front must have blown in during nap time because we were freezing. We all had jackets on, but the wind was like ice! We made it to the park and let the kids play until we couldn't stand it anymore (which didn't take very long). The people were still looking at the house so we all piled into our car to warm up...we had 5 kids, 4 adults, and 4 dogs. It was quite a little adventure, but it was really fun.
Al, Brooklyn, Danny, Amber and Murphy up front :) I think Canon was sitting in Brenley's car seat too.
The girls and I, and the other 3 dogs were in the back...we had fun!
Right after Christmas we loaded up the kids and went to see Pops in his office and meet all the people he works with. The kids had a great time and Pops was excited to show them off!
Atley and Avery. Just imagine what this will be like 13 years from now :)
Pops surprised the kids and transformed into the Good Neigh Bear. Atley loved him, but it took Avery and Brenley a little while to warm up to him, but as he was leaving Brenley had a kiss for him :)
The whole gang...but where did Pops go???
Brenley was showing Pops how to inspire his agents to sell more :) "This is how you do it Pops."
All the kids waiting their turn in the drivers seat. Lets just pray that this little driver is a better driver than her Mommy was :)
Pops, thanks for letting us come see you! You are the best! We love you!!!
This has been another eventful year for the Busters. We joyfully went from a family a three to a family of four by welcoming our new daughter, Brooklyn Mallory Buster. She was born on October 16 at 2:10pm, weighing 6lb 11oz and 18 ½ inches long. She is perfect in every way! We couldn’t ask for a better baby as she sleeps all the time and has slept really well at night since the beginning. This last week she started smiling and cooing at us and it is so sweet. She is a joy and is such a blessing to our family.
Al has had a busy year. He is still teaching Geometry at EvermanHigh School. He finished up the last school year with a huge jump in TAKS scores, something he was very proud of. He has also become quite the handy man. He mows yards for a few people on our street and has been mowing yards all over Ft.Worth for a friend. He has built a few fences and is always working on some odd jobs around the house. Somewhere in there he also finds time to work for a State Farm agent in the summer, play in a softball league at church, and hunt and fish. Plus he manages to spend a lot of time at home too, loving on all his girls. He is a wonderful Daddy and husband!
Brenley is now two years old and has a sweet, gentle personality. We are so excited that we saw the Lord move and heal Brenley’s feet this year. She is out of her orthopedic shoes and now wears a pair of tennis shoes on the wrong feet to help maintain her straight feet. God is so good! Brenley has developed quite a vocabulary that blows us away. She is a walking recorder and will repeat everything we say. Lately she has been pointing out all the “kissmas decorations.” She says it so well. We can usually find her somewhere playing with her babies and snapping them into Brooklyn’s car seat and swing. She has become a wonderful big sister. She loves her “Bookin” and is a big helper to Mommy. We are so proud of the sweet little girl she is turning out to be.
This has been a year full of babies for me. I was able to watch four other babies during the week. I had a perfect schedule and usually had Fridays off. In addition to all my babies, I had my sweet baby growing inside me. I love being pregnant and am blessed with easy pregnancies. I love all my kids that I keep, but sadly I had to let a few of them go to make room for Brooklyn and another new born. Starting in January I will have two 2 year olds and 2 newborns, 3 days a week. I will have my hands full, but it’s a wonderful way to get to stay home with my girls! I wouldn’t trade it for the world. They are such a joy to me.
We love you all and are blessed with such wonderful friends and family. You enrich our lives. Many of you, even though we live far apart, you are never far from our thoughts. We pray that you have a blessed Christmas and that you experience the love and grace of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
The girls went to two football games, two weeks in a row. Wylie's State Championship game with Mommy and Aunt Sabby (Daddy was hunting). It was pretty chilly, but we had a great time. Brooklyn slept through the whole thing!
We got to see some old friends. So crazy to see us all older with kids. Makes me feel old. Can't believe it's been 13 years since we graduated. The game was a lot of fun even though they lost.
The next weekend Al and I took the girls to the Albany game. Al has a good friend who lives in Albany and we haven't seen him in a few years, so this was a good excuse to see him and watch a good game. they lost also, but Brenley had a great time yelling, Go Lions!"
Brooklyn slept through this game too. Daddy and Bren
