Working on It

Working on laying down...

Brooklyn is not a fan of laying down much. She occasionally like to chill out and look at the ceiling fan or something. She loves her changing table, but she can't stay there all the time. Naps are probably the hardest thing about this sweet baby. She has a hard time sleeping when she is not in someone's arms. This makes it really hard to do anything, especially with Brenley, so I wear her in the baby Bjorn A LOT. I haven't had a problem with this, but soon I will have Macy and Carli to look after too and I need Brooklyn to be able to take her naps lying down. So, we are working on it :)

First time on the play mat.
Big sister wanted to play on it too.

First nap in her crib. I had to put a puppy over her paci to help it stay in. The nap wasn't long, but we're making progress :)

Any tips on getting Brooklyn to take a nap laying down???

Brooklyn's Room

Well I have finally gotten around to posting pictures of Brooklyn's room. She does not actually sleep in here yet, but she will. Right now this is just the place we occasionally change her diapers and keep her clothes. Some day she will call this room hers.

Here is the changing table. I had just swaddled her for the night.

The beautiful curtains and diaper stacker my Mom made.
(Excuse the car seats)

And her bed. She has only been in there once. She actually took a short nap in it yesterday...making progress!
(Excuse the glider. I tried to cover it up with pink blankets but Brenley kept taking them off and throwing them on the ground, so I gave up and left it the way it is)
I would still like to put something on the wall above her crib, but I haven't decided what to do.

So there it is. I hope you enjoy :)

Life As We Know It

Life As We Know It

Life as a stay at home mom is wonderful. Some days I dream of being out of the house, on my own, but most days I love it. I am incredibly blessed to be able to stay at home with my precious girls every day. I thought I'd give you a few snap shots into our life as we know it...

Today Brenley sat in front of the Christmas Tree with her Christmas bear and asked for me to take her picture...this is a first!
Our sweet Brooklyn showing off her new pink paci.

The other day we were at my parents and Brenley spilled her lunch all over her dress. I didn't have a change of clothes for her, so this is the best my Mom could do. She found a t-shirt of mine from when I was young...it was pretty small. And she found some sweat pants from Danny that were way too small. It worked, but she sure looked funny :)

Brooklyn showing off her black lips from her colic calm the other night.

We go to story time at the library every week. Brenley absolutly loves it! She can't wait to go to the library. I hope she always feels like that! This is her hat that she made at story time this week. We always go play in the house in the kids section afterward. I love the library!

My precious baby girl and I. She is too sweet!

Brenley has always been so good about playing in the bathroom while I get ready in the mornings. She has gotten into many things in our bathroom, but I thought this was pretty funny. She kept putting them on her belly and saying, "Mommy's owie." She saw me using my these after I had the baby and she thought I was putting them on my c-section incision...my owie. Pretty cute.

And finally our sweet baby girl sitting in her bumbo. Isn't she just precious!!!

Meeting Santa

Meeting Santa

We took the girls to meet Santa the other day. We were expecting Brenley to love it because we've been talking about him and Christmas a lot lately. She loves looking at lights and calls everything "Kissmas decorations." Big word for such a little girl, but she says it so well. She loved all the decorations at Santa's, but was not too excited about sitting on his lap.

So we decided to make it a family picture. She was much happier this way.

Hopefully it will be better next year :)
