It Was a Zoo at the Zoo

Over Spring Break we decided to take a family trip to the zoo. It was a beautiful day and we've been wanting to go for a long time. I think everyone else in the whole metroplex was thinking the same thing...it was so crowded! We had a great time, but I don't think we'll go back over spring break again.

Here is a beautiful ram

This is just a glimpse of how crowded it was. There were people everywhere! You had to fight your way in through all the parents, kids, and strollers to see the animals.

Beautiful lion.
Mommy and the girls with the elephant. Mr. Elephant was really excited to see Mrs. Elephant, so we didn't stick around very long :)

This was Brenley's first time to skip her nap. She was kind of cranky at times, but as long as she had a snack every so often, she was good.

We had a good time, but would like to go back again soon when its not so crowded.

Potty Training Advice?

Advice Anyone???

We are planning to start potty training Brenley this weekend. After hanging out with her big girl cousins for three months, she wants to go potty all the time! She's really good at it, I just hope she's ready to do it all the time.

So, all of you who have been through this before, do you have any advice for me???
I'll keep you all posted on how it goes :)

My Girls

My Girls

Here are some pictures that my sister took of my girls from her spot on the couch. I thought they were pretty sweet.
Yesterday Brenley asked if she could go to Nana's house and when she and Nana first walked in she looked at the couch and said, "Where's Aunt Shelly?" I guess she is so used to seeing Aunt Shelly on the couch that she was surprised when she wasn't there. Brenley loves her Aunt Shelly!

Here is my beautiful blue-eyed girl

Beautiful Butterflies

Beautiful Butterflies

Last Sunday we went to the Butterfly exhibit at the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens. We had a great time and were amazed at all the beautiful butterflies. We had a good time walking around the gardens too. Here in another month or so, the gardens will be so beautiful. I think we'll be heading back on a weekend soon.

Here are the pictures from my modest camera. If you'd like to see better pictures, you can check out my sister in law's blog here .

Nana and Pops with all of their 5 grand kids:

Canon, Avery, Brenley, Atley, and Brooklyn
The whole gang, minus Shelly, Phillip, and Al :( Shelly was on the couch, Phillip was in St. Louis, and Al was playing out in the country.

Checking something out

It was beautiful in the parts where the sun was shining through

Uncle Danny was sweet and carried Brooklyn around a lot

These brown butterflies were so pretty, when they fly the inside of their wings are a beautiful blue.

My Newest Baby

Meet Baby Ellie

Last week I started keeping a new baby, sweet Ellie. She is the baby of a friend of a friend, who has now become my friend too :)

Ellie is just about six months old, so she is a little over a month older than Brooklyn. Th two of them became friends fast as you can see by the pictures. Brenley likes her a lot, but she is missing someone to play with. So if anyone knows someone in the area that has a toddler who needs part time day care, send them my way.

We are excited to have a new baby in the house. She is precious and we look forward to watching her grow up.
Sharing already :)

Safari

Safari

The other day Tricia and I took the girls to the Safari Place in Southlake. It was so much fun!!! There was all kinds of things for the girls to do. They played in the balls, on the trampoline and the slides. Plus they had a million doll houses and play kitchens...Brenley was in heaven. Then the lady running the place took them on a ride on a mechanical zebra. It was really cool, the zebra walked and made a noise like a horse. They thought they were pretty cool. We may have to get Brenley on a horse this summer because she really liked it. There was also a train for them to ride. We could have stayed there a lot longer but lunch time and nap time were calling. We'll have to go back another day :) Checking out all the wildlife on their train ride.
