Snip Snip Snip

A few weeks ago Al came home from a weekend hunting trip and the first thing he said to Brenley when he walked in the door was, "Hey Bren! Wow you sure have grown a mullet." I didn't think her hair looked that bad, but when that's the first thing her Daddy notices, then it's time for a hair cut.

Later that week we took her to Cool Cuts for Kids. She did great. She loved sitting in the car, in fact she didn't want to get out when it was over. The hairdresser moved fast. In fact we think she was either on speed or had ADHD really bad. She was good though. She even gave us a lock of Brenley's hair. $20 later we were out the door. Next time I think I'll do it on my own. But it was a good experience and Brenley looks really cute.

Look at me, I'm driving!

She looks like such a big girl to me.

Daddy helped her look down. She was so good.

FREE

FREE! There aren't many words better than that word right there (in many different meanings...thank you Jesus for making me FREE). Today I happened to stumble upon a few garage sales. I was still in my pajamas, so I was hesitant to get out of the car. But I saw this Little Tikes picnic table out in someone's yard. I have been looking for one on Craigs List for a while, but they are always sold before I get to them. So, I hopped out of the car and asked the lady how much she was asking for the table and she said, "It's free, take it!" I was so excited I had to give her a hug. I'm sure she thought I was crazy, I had on my pajamas, had 2 dogs and a baby in my car, and I wanted to give her a hug. She obliged my craziness and I hauled off my table. I can't wait to have snack outside with the kids, or color, or maybe even play dough! I love FREE stuff!

Brenley in the Bluebonnets

Easter was wonderful, but I never posted any pictures because I never took any of Brenley in her Easter dress. We went to church on Saturday night to miss the crowd on Sunday, and then Sunday was pretty cold, so she didn't wear her Easter dress for the Easter celebration. I do have some pictures on my Mom's camera from the Eater egg hunt, I'll post those later.

So, since you never got to see Brenley all dressed up in her Easter dress, I decided to dress her up all over again and snap some pictures in the bluebonnets. Yesterday was the first nice day we've had in a while, so my Mom and I loaded Brenley up and headed to the Wildflower Hill.

She did really well, much better than I thought she would. Here are a few of my favorites.

(Sorry, not sure why the text up there is hyper-linked)

This one is my favorite!

4 Little Babies Splashing in the Bath

The Hunters were here for a week and we had such a great time. The girls are growing up more and more each time we see them, and Canon just gets cuter and sweeter. We hardly took any pictures, but one night we did get all four grand-kids into the bath together. It was pretty crowded, but they loved it.
Avery and Atley were helping wash Canon in the bath.

Four of the cutest kids I know!!!

A Heart Like Her Daddy's

Every morning after Brenley eats breakfast, we go back into my bathroom so I can get ready before the other babies show up. We have our little routine things we do every morning. I turn on the water, set my towel out, put the dog food up so she can't get into it, and I get out her toothbrush and toothpaste...she loves to brush her teeth. Before I ever get into the shower she asks me for more toothpaste, and then as soon as I get out it's the same, "Mor Mor." I love how she talks.

While I'm taking my shower she is exceptionally good. She stands by the shower door, brushing her teeth, and waiting. She may say, "Hi," or "Mommy," but most of the time she just stands there quietly, waiting for me. As soon as she hears the water turn off she grabs my towel and holds it out for me to take it. It melts my heart everytime; I just want to cry. It's just a true expression of her heart, that she would stand there for 5 minutes (a long time for a 16 month old) and wait, just so she could help me with my towel. Oh I love it...I love her.

I was thinking about this the other day and wondering why she started doing this. Then it dawned on me, sometime she had seen her Daddy do this. He always hands me my towel when I finish my shower. She has a giving heart just like her Daddy, and he gets it from his Heavenly Daddy. She wants to be just like him, just like Al wants to be just like Him.

Baby's First Sonogram

Al and I went to see my doctor today. We got to meet Baby Buster #2 for the first time he/she (I think it's a he!) was wiggling all over the place, had hands and feet, fingers and toes. It was amazing!!! We are already in love.

The appointment went really well. Everything checks out just perfect. Our official due date is October 24, one day after my nephew Canon's first birthday...pretty cool. So that makes me 10 weeks and 6 days pregnant, for those of you who care.

I know the pictures aren't very good, but they are better than nothing. So, let me introduce Baby Buster #2...

I know it's hard to tell, but he is upside down, the head is on the bottom, feet at the top. Hands are in front of his face. It was much clearer in person. A picture of a picture never turns out well.
