Night Night

Night Night

Brenley loves to play on our bed. The other day she and Al crawled under the covers and went night night. She wanted a paci because all the other babies around here use a paci when they take a nap. She has never been a paci baby, but she likes to pretend. I think she's reverting before the baby even gets here. She also like to drink out of a bottle. I couldn't get her to take a bottle when she was a baby and now she says "baby drink." She likes to put water in it and play with the bottle. She doesn't do these things very often, so I don't consider them a habit. This time in particular was pretty cute :)

Animals!

Grape Fest

Last Friday Al and I decided to go to Grape Fest in downtown Grapevine. If you get there before 5:00pm, admission is free. So, Al hurried home from a long day at school. Brenley and I were waiting in the driveway for him. We loaded Brenley and the stroller in the car and headed out to have fun.

Friday afternoon traffic is no fun, even on the back roads. We were pushing it to get there on time. So, Al dropped Brenley and I off close to the gates. There were people running up to the gates, but I was not about to run. While being 35 weeks pregnant and carrying a 28 lb baby, running is not recommended. We made it in though, among the huge crowd of people barging through the gates. I was thinking that Al wasn't going to make it, but soon after we got in he was going through the gates. Poor guy found a parking spot, grabbed the stroller, and took off. He was out of breath when he got there, but we saved $16 :)

So, once inside we had a great time. Brenley soaked in all the sights and loved looking at all the people. We wandered into the kid's section and couldn't pass up the petting zoo. She LOVED it! She also got to talk to a guy on stilts. I think one of her highlights was pushing the stroller. She's getting to be such a big girl!

Here are a few of the pictures. I hope you enjoy! We had a fabulous time!

Smokin Hot!!!

The other day Al was in the mood to "fire up his smoker." He LOVES to grill and cook meat on his smoker. He dug through the freezer and found some turkey and dove that he had shot. He also had some sausage made from some kind of wild animal that he cooked as well. He was pretty excited about it all. He said it all turned out great. I'm not a big fan of wild game, so I found something else to eat. It smelled good though.

Brenley loved playing outside while, "Daddy cooking." That's what she said all day. And still, when she sees the smoker, she'll say the same thing. Pretty cute!

The finished product.

Here's the meat on the smoker :)

I love it that Al has these hobbies that he loves. He's really good at smoking too...he is smokin hot!!! I love you babe!

We Have a Date

I know that many of you already know, but we have scheduled a c-section for Brooklyn on October 16th, at 1:30pm. I had a c-section with Brenley, so we're just going to go ahead and make it easy and do another one with Brooklyn. It will be so nice to be able to sleep in (hopefully) and have a nice, easy morning, and then go in to have a baby!

We picked October 16th because the doctor wants to take her a week before her due date (the 24th), and because Brenley was born on November 16th. So both girls will be born on the 16th, 23 months apart exactly. Plus the 16th is a Friday and will make it easier for family and friends to see her.

We can't wait to meet our little angel. I'll post another picture soon of my growing belly. Only 5 more weeks to go!!!

New Do

Brenley got her second hair cut today. We thought it was getting shaggy in the back and was beginning to look like a mullet again. So off to the hair dresser we went. She did such a good job. All the other girls working came up and commented on how well she was doing. She sat in the big girl chair and did not move. She let the girl do whatever she wanted. It was so nice.

Her hair looks really cute and she loves it. She keeps touching her hair because she knows it's different. She's such a cutie!

Please excuse the fact that Brenley is digging in the trash, this was the only time I could catch her being still. Don't worry, she didn't eat any trash (this time).

A side view of her new do.

I had a hard time getting her to let me take a good picture from the front. She kept wanting to look at the pictures on my camera, but wouldn't let me take any. She would run away every time I got ready, so this is as good as it gets.

Ouch!

Diaper rash is no fun!

The other day I fed Brenley some cantaloupe that was bad. I should have tasted it before I gave it to her because it tasted awful. But she ate it anyway. Needless to say it didn't have a very pleasing effect when it came out the other end. Poor Brenley had diarrhea and the diarrhea gave her awful diaper rash.

Her little bottom hurt so bad that we had to give her Motrin to take the pain away. She didn't want a bath that night and she didn't even want to sit down for dinner. So, we improvised and put her plate on the chair and she stood to eat. She LOVED it. She thought she was such a big girl. This is not a habit I want to get into though.

Thank goodness her little bottom is all better. Diaper rash is no fun!

PS: I added another poll on the right hand side of my blog. Vote who you think Brooklyn will look like :)
