Bookins Hoom

Well, this is about as far as we've gotten. We did get the curtain up yesterday and it looks so great. We have to paint the crib, get the bumper pads dry cleaned, do a few craft projects for the walls, and a few finishing touches.

As you can see I did start to organize her closet. Most of her clothes are already folded in her dresser.

It's hard to get anything done with a 21 month old around. Brenley made a big mess in "Bookins Hoom," as she calls it. It's so cute, she's starting to say her name. Brenley will be a great big sister!
Hopefully we will get her room finished soon. It's driving me crazy to have a room in shambles like this. I'll post pictures as soon as we finish.

Cloth Diapers

Well I finally did it...

I started using cloth diapers. My sister has been using cloth diapers on her kids for about 2 years now and I've always admired her for doing it. It just wasn't sure I was ready to take the leap and do it. When I got pregnant with Brooklyn I started giving the idea some more thought and before I knew it the box of diapers was sitting at my front door.

There are many types of cloth diapers but my sister found the easiest ones of all. They are called Bum Genius. They are a one size fits all diaper. They have snaps to make them smaller or larger. They come in all these adorable colors too. Check out Brenley sporting her new green "bopper."

Isn't she just adorable?!?!

Here is my stash of all the diapers. I got 14, so I have to wash them every other day, which is good. I don't think I'd be able to breathe in the smell from diapers a couple days old...yuck!

These are the liners the go inside. There is a place to stuff them inside so they are ready when you need them. Then you just put on the diaper like a regular one. They even have velcro tabs and everything...so easy!

Bum Genius

Al set me up a line in the back yard so I can dry the diapers. This will save some money, especially in the summer. I wont' have to use the dryer all the time. I've wanted one for a long time, who knew how easy it was going to be to set it up. Al is so creative...it's out of the way and you can't see it from the back windows.

So far I'm enjoying the diapers. I have to admit the first time I changed a poopy diaper and had to scrape out the poop, I was a lot more grossed out than I thought I would be. But each time has gotten easier.

I plan on using these with Brooklyn, but not at first. She will be so tiny and these diapers are so big and bulky, that I'd rather use disposables at first. Plus newborns go to the bathroom all the time. So, if you have any left over new born diapers laying around, I know a baby who could use them ;)

I'll keep you posted on our cloth diapering experiences. But so far, so good :)

Potty-time Practice

No, we're not potty-training her yet...

We have a potty so she can get used to it and "practice." She understands it all, but still hasn't actually gone tee tee in the potty. I just thought this picture was precious. Look at that sweet face :)

Her Name Is...

Brooklyn Mallory Buster

We've finally made up our minds and have settled on the baby's name...Brooklyn Mallory Buster. We love the name Brooklyn and Mallory is Al's middle name, so there you have it. Brenley is named after me, Ruth was my maiden name and is now my middle name. And now Brooklyn will be named after her Daddy. We'd like to have one more baby after this, but just in case we don't, now we each have one named after us :)

This pregnancy is going along just great. I am 28 weeks today, about 7 months. Brooklyn weighs about 2 1/2 lbs, me on the other hand, well that's a different story. I feel like I'm packing on the pounds. Hopefully I will lose it as easily as I did with Brenley, nursing works wonders :)

We painted the nursery on Sunday, now we just have to work on getting everything in. Actually we have to get the old stuff out first...anyone want a queen size mattress and box springs???

We have a couple projects that need to be done for the room like painting the crib, putting the dresser together, and a piece I'm making for the wall. My sweet Mom is making the bedding and curtain, then after that we should be ready. I'm anxious to get it all put together.

It's so nice having another girl because we already have everything. I am thinking about using cloth diapers for Brooklyn, so I need to get some of those. I also want to find a super cute outfit to bring her home from the hospital in. Other than that, we are set.

So, here is a picture of my lovely baby bump. I feel like I'm getting bigger every day. Brooklyn is moving a lot and already feels like she's up in my ribs. I love feeling her move. We can't wait to see what she will look like. Having a baby is so much fun. It won't be long until we can all see her beautiful face!!!

What We've Been Up To

What's Been Going On

We haven't been doing too much around here, just the same ole' stuff. We did just get back from a great weekend in Austin. We went down to celebrate Kendall's first birthday, but unfortunatly I didn't take any pictures.

In fact, that's why I haven't blogged much lately, because I haven't taken many pictures. I don't really like to blog unless I have a picture to go along with it. So, here's just a taste of what we've been up to...

Brenley's hair is finally growing, it's all in the back, but at least it's growing. So, the other day I decided she needed pig tails for the first time. Macy and Elliot were here too, so they their hair put up as well. Here are the girls and their cute hair :)

I think she looks like such a big girl in this picture.

Brenley's pig tails!

Elliot's didn't show up very well, but she's had pig tails A LOT in her little life.

Macy's hair didn't get pig tails, but she always looks cute everyday with her hair in a ponytail.

I will post a new belly picture soon and I'll announce the official name of Baby Buster.
