V! County Fair

We LOVE our church! They do so many amazing things! Everything they do is over the top!

This year they had something called the V! County Fair for all the volunteers at church. It was a free carnival with all kinds of rides. After we checked in and walked out to the fair they had a victory line of all the staff members cheering for us and giving us high fives. The line seemed to go on forever and it made us feel so special!

Our first ride was the ferris wheel and the girls were beyond excited...especially Brenley. She was squealing and could not stop smiling. We loved every second of it!

The elephants were so fun!

Brenley wanted special braids in her hair for the night...she loved it!

The carousel is always a hit

We spent the whole night with our sweet friends The Bramers.
We all had so much fun! We didn't want to leave.
Such a fun night!!!

A Little of This and a Little of That

Here are a few of the things we've been up to over the last month or so...

Ate at a fun new burger place in Keller. We all felt like we had gotten away for a while.

Al trimmed the trees in the front and back. I don't think this picture shows just how much he cut. He filled up the whole front yard with branches, twice. He is such a hard worker!!!

The girls outside enjoying a beautiful day!

We were outside playing one day and Brenley ran inside and fixed us up a salad for snack. She did an excellent job. A spinach salad with strawberries and balsamic vinegar dressing with some crackers on the side. She did this ALL on her own and thought of the idea all by herself. I was so proud!!!

Brenley's first time to really swim. It was still pretty chilly so she had a life jacket on.

Making a mess at home.
About a month ago I started watching our good friends' little boy, Chance. He just turned two and is as cute as he can be. We only have him until school gets out but we have loved having him here.

A beautiful sunrise on my run one morning.

The Hunters were in town at the beginning of May. We always love being with him.
In this picture the girls had made a tea party for us and even gave us tickets to get in. It was pretty sweet.

Chance and Brooklyn painting pots for Mothers Day...so dilligent!

Al and his girls out riding the four wheelers

Me and my sweet girls on Mothers Day...Love them!

Love kissing on her

Brenley striking a pose!

Picnic at the park with the kiddos

So, these are just a few snap shots into our lives.
Life is good!

Our New/Old Table

This table has been in my family for 28 years. My mom bought it, stained it and finished it while I was 4, my sister was two and my brother was just a baby. A few years ago she gave it to me. I had planned on refinishing it but I couldn't ever decide what I wanted to do. Until recently, I found a picture of a table with a dark stained top and a blue painted bottom. So I set out and got started.

I sanded and sanded and sanded for weeks. It seemed like it would never end.

Eventually I was able to get started staining. It was so beautiful!
I painted a coat of primer on the bottom and loved the white so much I just couldn't paint it blue. So I antiqued it just like I was planning on doing to the chairs.

This isn't the best picture because I took it with my phone but here is the finished product. I am so happy with how it turned out. Now I am super protective of it and want the kids to use place mats all the time :)

As I was working on this table I felt like I was living my mom's life. Working on the same table while my 2 and 4 year olds play in the yard. She got the idea of doing her table from her friend Sheryl Bloomfield and while I was working on it I had some trouble and Sheryl's daughter Jenny helped me out with it...even though she lives in Kansas City. I just love how the Lord blesses us with sweet little things like that. He is so good.
