Fun Times in a Hospital Room?

Fun Times in a Hospital Room

As most of you know, my sweet sister Shelly is in the hospital because her cervix is shortening while she is pregnant with #4, Baby Champ. We are so blessed that she is here, in Grapevine, so we get to see her all the time. My parents are keeping her kids, while her husband comes down from St. Louis as often as he can. They are staying strong and holding onto the promises of God. He is so good and is seeing them through this tough time.

Although the circumstances are not ideal, selfishly I am loving having the Hunters here. Brenley has really enjoyed playing with Atley and Avery, and Canon too. It's so fun to watch them play and to know that they will always be friends. And I love seeing my sister almost every day and getting to really bond with her kids too.

Shelly's kids spend a lot of time at the hospital. My Mom takes them up there everyday to see their Mommy. I try to make it up there as often as I can too. I try not to go when Mom and the kids are there so Shelly is not alone as much and because it can get a little crazy with 5 kids and 3 adults in a hospital room. Shelly was blessed to be moved to a bigger room the other day, so the kids have more room to play. You have to get a little creative to keep them entertained in such a small space. Thankfully they have a fun and creative Nana. They also love to go down to see the babies in the nursery.

This is quite an experience for everyone. They are checking Shelly's cervix again on Friday and if she is still stable it looks like she might get to go home to my parents to be on bed rest there. She will be 28 weeks and we praise the Lord that she has made it to this milestone. Please pray with us that her cervix will remain stable and that baby Champ will be born at full term!

Here's just a snapshot of our time in the hospital.

Shelly and her sweet baby boy. Nana and the kids made a train...I think it looks like Nana was glad to have a break and lay down for a minute ;)

We love you Shelly and are praying for you all the time!!!
