What a Trooper

My husband is so tough. He woke up one morning last week with a horrible pain in his abdomen. He assumed it was probably gas so he went about his morning and went to school. It was the second to last day of school and was only a half day, so he thought he could tough it out. But as the day went on the pain didn't go away. So after the kids left, he left too and went to Care Now. They ran some tests and thought it would be best if he went to the ER because they were pretty sure he had appendicitis.

He stopped by the house to pick me up and my mom came to watch the girls (I also had Ellie that day). She made it so easy on me to leave. We went to the ER and got right in. They gave him some morphine and he was feeling pretty good, he felt like he was sitting on the patio drinking his second margarita. He liked that stuff :)

The ER doc was pretty sure he had appendicitis as well, but he ran a cat scan to make sure. After a few hours in the ER, the Dr came in and said he was wrong...they didn't know what was wrong with him. The CT showed that he was pretty backed up and thought that he had a little virus that was aggravating him. Praise the Lord! No surgery!!! He sent him home with a laxative and some pain killers and the next day Al was as good as new. The Dr. said 75% of the people that come in with abdominal pain, they usually don't know what causes it...crazy!

He was a trooper and had a smile on his face the whole time. It's so wonderful to be married to such a happy guy! Makes life good!
This picture is post morphine :)
