Birthday Party

This year Brenley and Brooklyn wanted a cowgirl themed Birthday party. We have a fabulous family farm in town who do birthday parties. The weather was beautiful, our friends and family were sweet and we all had a great time.

We all went on a hayride around the farm.

Then we got off to see all the goats.

And feed the baby goats...they were so cute!

We all ate some chili and then some cupcakes that the girls made themselves. I think that was everyone's favorite part...the cupcakes :)

Brooklyn and Hudson got their own personal hayride around the party :)

We had a great time and the girls felt so special. Thanks to all of our sweet friends who came out to love on our girls.

Happy 5th Birthday Brenley and Happy 3rd Birthday Brooklyn!!!

Brenley is 5!!!

I don't know how it happened, but 5 years has gone by since this precious little girl came into our lives. It has been so much fun to be her parents. We absolutely love watching her grow up and change into a beautiful little girl. She is so smart and catches on to things really quickly. She loves to learn and doesn't forget much. Her inquisitive nature keeps her on the go, always moving on to something different. The one thing she will sit still and do is to watch cooking videos and play with play-doh. She loves to pretend like she's decorating a cake with her play-doh. She's got all the terminology down and can decorate her play-doh cakes really well.

For her birthday this year she knew exactly what she wanted to do. She wanted pancakes for breakfast, with a 5 shaped pancake of course. Then she wanted to go out to lunch at either Panera Bread or Chick Fil A (because those are two of the places we eat at the most so I think they've become her favorites). Then we were going to go to Nana and Pop's for dinner to celebrate her :)

It was a great day to celebrate our sweet girl!

Brooklyn was excited to celebrate Brenley too!

Birthday lunch at Chick Fil A

What is a birthday without a birthday cake? Especially to a girl who loves cakes!

Such a happy girl!!!
We love you Brenley Ruth Buster and we are so proud of you!
Happy 5th Birthday to our precious girl!

More Fall Fun

I LOVE Fall!!! The weather is absolutely perfect so it feels great to be outside. I haven't been great about taking pictures but here are a few pictures of what we've been up to.

This was the second year that Al got to drive a bus for a field trip to the zoo. Once he got to the zoo he was free to do whatever he wanted, so we met him up there again this year. We got there when it opened and many of the animals were eating breakfast when we got there. It was fun to see them moving around a lot. We had a great day at the zoo and got to see everything we wanted.
Sadly this was the only picture I took all day.

We had the girl's birthday party right after Brenley's birthday (posts to come on those big things!) We made Cowgirl Cookie mixes as party favors since the girls are so into baking. They love to measure things out and are good helpers!

We've been raking lots of leaves around here lately. I know I sound crazy but I really like raking. There are still leaves on the trees but I'm trying to stay on top of it a little bit.
The girls don't love raking but they sure love playing in my piles. I don't always love them messing up my piles but it sure made for cute pictures on this particular day :)

Happy Fall Ya'll!!!

A Week to Remember

The week of Halloween was so much fun. Monday Brenley got to dress up in her costume for preschool. They got to go trick or treating at the church offices and had a party. She came home with LOTS of candy and a huge smile on her face!

That night we had Al's school's homecoming parade. We met up with some friends and had fun cheering for all the floats, and of course catching all the candy! It's so fun to have all the kids on the float get so excited to see "Coach Buster." I think our kids get special treatment because all the kids love Al!

Tuesday night we had our annual Fall Festival at church. Every year they go above and beyond and it's always so much fun! The girls got to ride a pony, play lots of games, play in the play ground in the big kids rooms upstairs, do a little dancing and once again came home with more candy.

Then Wednesday night we decided to take the girls trick or treating for the first time. The girls got all dressed up again but Brenley's Minnie Mouse costume was shot. I had to get out the sewing maching and do some major repair work on it after preschool. But then after wearing it to the fall festival it was beyond repair. So Cinderella and Precious Pumpkin got all dressed up for their very first trick or treating experience. We went to Scott and Sydney's house and walked their block with Chance. This is what Halloween should be about, sweet families out on their driveway passing out candy and just and fun night where everyone is happy to see each other. There weren't any scary houses, everything was fun. It was a good experience for all of us first timers :) And once again we came home with crazy amounts of candy!

There are still some remnants of candy around but A LOT of it went in the trash!
We had so much fun in those first three days that we had to stay home and skip the football game Thursday night. We needed some down time at home. It was a fun week and the girls can't wait to do it all over again next year.

Happy Birthday My Big 3 Year Old!

When did this happen? When did my baby grow up and turn three years old?
She is such a precious little girl! I just love everything about her! In the past 6 months or so she has come out of her shell and is now a vibrant, funny, talkative little girl. She cracks us up daily with the things she says or the facial expressions she makes. At the same time she has such a sweet, tender heart.  She loves to give big hugs, and be held. My favorite thing is when she wraps her arms around my neck and plays with my hair while I hold her. Melts my heart.
Brooklyn is so excited to be a big sister. She loves her "baby Buster." She talks about him everyday and sometimes pretends like she is pregnant too. It's pretty cute!
This little three year old is one of my favorite people in whole wide world. I adore her and am so thankful God blessed us with our precious Brooklyn!

Her 3 Pancake

Cool girls icing Brooklyn's cake. She wanted strawberry cake with vanilla icing and sprinkles. The girls made the whole thing...our future bakers!

Happy Birthday girl and her loving sister.

Rockin her birthday presents!
Happy Third Birthday Brooklyn Mallory Buster!

State Fair of Texas

We got to to the great State Fair of Texas this year with my mom. It was a beautiful day and we got to do everything we wanted to do. We started off with Little Hands on the Farm and seeing all the show animals and the petting zoo. We toured the things they have for sale, checked out a few cars, ate a few corn dogs in front of Big Tex, saw the dog show and of course rode a few rides. We all had a blast! There is so much to do there we could have stayed all day.

The girls and I loved having Nana with us. Al usually takes a day off of work to go with us but he's been so busy and has missed a lot of days with Cross Country but he was sad to miss out on all the fun.

Farmer Girls

The girls LOVED the rides! Last year Brooklyn was scared on the rides but this year she was all smiles!

So proud to be tall enough to ride some of the rides!

Happy Girls! I'm so proud of them for riding the rides on their own! So independent!

They got to color a pumpkin

This opened up a new world to them that Mommy has kept hidden...permanent markers! Now they try their hardest to get to use them all the time.

We love the State Fair. I wish we would have taken a picture with Big Tex before he went down in flames. We can't wait to take little Brady to his first State Fair next year!

Learning and Growing

Brenley was so excited when she came home from preschool one day with homework. She asked her Daddy to sit down with her and help her with her homework. They had given her a worksheet to practice writing her name. She LOVED every minute of this time and can't wait to have more homework to do.
Side note: Before school began she could write a B but that was about it. Now she can look at her name and copy it onto her paper and it looks really good. She learned this in three weeks. I'm so proud of her.

The girls love to play play-doh. There aren't many days that go by where they don't play with it and many days where they play 2-3 times a day. One of their favorite things to do with play doh is to "cook" with it. They love to watch cooking videos and are familiar with lots of different baking terms. Here in this picture Brooklyn was working on her fondant and was going to go bake it at 75. It makes me smile every time I hear her say those words in her precious little two year old voice. Love it!

Brenley was decorating her cake. I love how they use their imaginations.

I was so proud of Bren. She matched up all these cards all by herself. She was mostly looking at the pictures but then we went back over them and tried to read the words. Still working on those letter sounds.

Brooklyn was not impressed. She was ready to move onto something else. She cracks me up.
It's so fun to see them grow and develop. They really are changing every day. It's so amazing!
